Description

Alberto Thirion (born in 1947) is a Mexican painter who has established himself in the contemporary art scene, particularly on the international stage. His training includes studies at the Jurez University of the State of Durango (painting, sculpture, and crafts) and at the San Carlos Free School of Art and Advertising, among others.

He is known by a provocative nickname he himself adopted: "the most famous painter in the world." This slogan arose from his work "The Death of the Devil" (executed, for example, in 2000), a piece that, according to the artist himself and some online sources, generated considerable controversy and popularity at the time, placing it alongside iconic works.

Personality Focus: The audacity of his style and his provocative personality (as evidenced by his self-description) are key elements that fuel the sustained interest in his work and his consolidation in the art market.
